Karolinska Institutet published a press release yesterday announcing that they have raised 580 million SEK (about 62 million EUR) in its fundraising campaign “Breakthroughs for life”.
The largest single donation – 350 million SEK comes from the Erling-Persson Family Foundation. Other donors that have contributed to the campaign include the Jochnick Foundation, AFA Insurance, the Torsten and Ragnar Söderberg foundations and the pharmaceutical company Meda.
The single largest donation on 350 million skr will finance a new assembly hall at Karolinska Institutet’s campus in Solna, located in the north of Stockholm.
The goal is to raise one billion Swedish crowns by 2010 – the year Karolinska Institutet celebrates its 200th anniversary as a medical university.
Congratulations to our friends at Karolinska Institutet! Mira Network has been helping Karolinska Institutet with alumni relations since 2001.
