The Mira Event check in feature lets you easily check in event participants at an event using mobile devices such as an iPhone, iPad or Android device. Event confirmations can include a QR code that can be scanned by event staff at the entrance. The event staff can then quickly check in the participant, review payment information and mark the registration as attended.
Use cases
- Check in participants at the door, and note that they participated
- At the door review the participant’s registration to guide them to the correct room or part of the venue
- Verify that the registration has been paid, and manage payments at the door.
- Make notes about special information or seating in the internal comment, to have it readily available at the door.
How it works
As an event organizer you can scan the QR code and then quickly check in the participant.
- Log in to Mira on your mobile device. Make sure you’re using your devices default browser and use the same web address (URL), user name and password as you use on your computer. You need to have Event management permissions.
- Ask the participant to show the event confirmation with the QR code, either on paper or on their mobile device.
- Using a supported mobile phone or tablet, start the camera and point the camera at the QR code. A notification appears on your mobile device.
- Tap the notification. You now see the event confirmation on your screen. There are buttons to edit the participation status and payment status for the participant. You can also see and edit the internal comment for the registration.
Tips
- Make sure you are logged in. Otherwise you will get a 403 permission denied error message.
- Ahead of the event, verify that the mobile phones you intend to use at the entrance supports reading QR codes.
- Be sure to inform attendees that they need to bring their event confirmation either printed or on their phone.
- The participant might need to confirm they want to display images in their email program. Otherwise the QR code will not be displayed.
- If there is a participant who does not have their event confirmation or you are unable to read the QR code, go to the event in Mira using the web app. The interface is responsive and works on mobile devices. ### Link to tip.
- Ahead of the event you can add internal notes to registrations that are available in the check in view.
